Ignite that fire & get motivated for 2019…

Have you already set your goals for 2019 or are you lacking the motivation to sit down & plan your next steps?

If you’ve already set yourself some clear goals, then brilliant, now break these down and set a plan for how you’re going to achieve them. However, if like me you’ve been struggling to find the motivation to set your 2019 goals then here’s what I did…

I found that other people’s goals, wanting to look a certain way, wanting to beat someone else, lifting a particular weight or gaining a certain amount of likes on social media just didn’t motivate me! It’s not to say that these things won’t motivate me at other times or won’t motivate you in some way, but they just didn’t light that fire beneath me to want to strive for success! These things just weren’t enough to give me the drive I needed to want to progress forward & set my goals!

It wasn’t until I looked back through photos on my phone of 2018 that I discovered what really motivates me. The camera roll contained images of my physique, memories and unforgettable experiences. It was then I realised that what really motivates me is wanting to continuously better myself. I wanted to improve & progress, setting new PBs across my whole life; social, physical, mental & work.

It was only at this stage I was able to set my goals to improve my physique, to have success competing, to visit new places, have new experiences, improve the quality of time with my family and grow my business!

So my top tip to you if you’re struggling with motivation to set your goals is to look back at your 2018 triumphs, failures and memories, and use these to push you forward to make 2019 your best year yet!

Don’t follow the BS

So how do you know the difference between fact and hype?

It’s a tough one. Social media is amazing. It is an incredible tool to share positivity, connect with like minded people all over the world and for me to build a business that has no limits. However it also has the power to become all consuming, define our mood and motivation and can become a source of self worth.

Social media is a ‘media’ it is not ‘real life’. It is no more accurate than the daily mail ‍♀ sure it’s funny and fun and allows things like this group to be possible but it’s important you find a way to cut through the BS.

My top tips:

1. Only follow people who actually inspire you. Not bodies or people who think will. A tiny waist on a 22 year old is NOT true motivation. It will only lead you to feel shit you’re no longer 22 with a 22 inch waist.

2. Only follow what you’re passionate about. I’m passionate about personal development and puppies – those kinda posts fire me up and make me smile so why the hell am I following booty queens and models? Hello unfollow.

3. Post content you want to post. Not what you think will get interaction. Integrity is what leads to true happiness. Business pages need to look slick, need to have a thought process and a strategy – a personal one should be about expression.

4. Like attracts like – if you post negative moany stuff – expect that to come back to you. Focus on finding a positive or don’t post at all. Gratitude is key to this – post on this to come ..

All in all. Just know social media isn’t real
Life – it’s just a highlight reel of people want you to see. Never compare because you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.
